Deborah Li ’27- nursing | honors

Deborah Li is a 学生工作者 for International 招生 at Hardin-Simmons University.I serve as a 学生工作者 for International 招生 at Hardin-Simmons University. My job involves assisting international students with their university applications, answering their questions throughout the process, and guiding them on the necessary next steps.  I also help students prepare for visa interviews by scheduling mock interview sessions with them.

What I love most about my job is the chance to connect with international students from diverse backgrounds and help them navigate the complexities of the application process. As an international student myself, I understand the challenges they face when applying to U.S. 大学. I am grateful for the support I received from 学生工作者s during my application process to HSU. I am excited to use my experience to assist others in making their journey to HSU smoother and more successful.

My job prepares me for the future by enhancing my communication and problem-solving skills, as I regularly interact with students from different backgrounds and address their unique concerns.

Courtney Govea ’25 – graphic design major | Christian studies

Courtney Govea is a Production Assistant in Media Services.I serve as a Production Assistant in Media Services. My job primarily entails taking photos on campus for events and sports, helping my boss with professional shoots, and editing them afterward. I also make many university videos, such as hype videos, graduation lookbacks, and interviews.

I love the experience I get while working at this job, and I enjoy working with my coworkers at events and football games!

This job will prepare me for when I graduate and continue my business as a photographer. I also aspire to be involved with church media someday, and my job has prepared me for that, too.

Sayler McKay Beerwinkle ’26 – social work | communications

Sayler Beerwinkle is a Social Media 学生工作者 for the University Marketing department.I work as a Social Media Student Worker for the university’s marketing department. My job requires me to help with the school’s official social media planning and posts. I am responsible for keeping up with social media trends and looking for popular ideas to incorporate into HSU posts. Furthermore, I help with keeping track of the feed stats.

I love the connections I am able to build. It is cool to see all the work that goes on behind the scenes in the marketing department. I am passionate about creativity and channel my passion to making HSU graphics and creating silly TikToks. I also love how flexible my job is, which makes it possible to juggle work with classes and basketball.

My job has given me a lot of knowledge about content creation, which will be useful in my future career. 在这份工作之前, I had no social media experience, but I am now confident that I understand the basics of running social media accounts.
